While in this trailer, I took over the second bedroom
to build my Shack. As WA9USD, the antenna system developed.
My neighbors thought I lived up there. I was NCS for the
Wisconsin Sideband Net, The Novice Traffic Net and checked into the Wisconsin
Slow Speed CW Net. The shack was capable of battery power with
sniper scope 6 volt batteries set up in an old TV cabinet.
Just prior to the ice storm of '74, the batteries were completed and fully
charged.
They kept me on the air after I put up my back-up antennas.
